horrible experience. upon entering, they tried to seat us in the bar. we went there for a nice casual lunch date. we didn't go there to sit with the alcoholics. we weren't interested in the bar. and then the atmosphere was so pretentious, it was very uncomfortable. we were really dressed up and looked just as nice as everyone else, but the rude customers were obnoxious. the food was good, the ambience was horrible. we won't go back. Unless you are prepared to drop $200 for dinner for 2 you are better off going to charlestons. Walloons is extremely upscale presenting impeccable service and a dining experience. The hosting and serving staff seem well trained in the fine art of ass kissing. If that's your thing you will not be disappointed. We tried this restaurant a couple of years ago and thought we should try it again. Doubt we will be back. I ordered the mussels in wine sauce with leek, which sounded yummy. They add creme fraiche to their sauce so maybe that was the problem, but the sauce did not taste good - it was sour tasting. I left 1/2 of the mussels uneaten. My partner had the lobster roll. The attractive vintage-inspired space and well prepared food were overshadowed by the high prices and the poor service. $50 for a dozen oysters. $14 for 5 deviled egg halves. When taking our order our waitress said " do you want french fries, the chips just come from a bag." no mention of the up-charge. While it was lovely to catch up with my girlfriend and the company was absolutely wonderful, unfortunately the food and service at Walloon's were a disappointment. We were there for almost two hours because the service throughout the meal was so slow. To be fair, the beignets, which we ordered first, were actually very nice, but after that, things went rapidly downhill. I made reservations at Walloon's to celebrate my mom's 65th birthday and my sister-in-law's 35th birthday. Carrie provided a wonderful dining experience. She went above and beyond -- writing birthday cards, lighting candles in the bread pudding, and truly making the evening feel special. Came for a birthday dinner party of 8. Everything started out picture perfect. Adult bev's were tasty after settling in we opened with appetizers- Mothers Deviled Eggs $14, Redfish beignets...don't remember price but delicious, 1 doz raw oysters listed as MP (market price). "Do believe the hype." Over priced, not fresh, and just misses the mark in so many different ways. Oysters tasted old, red snapper (my favorite fish) was under seasoned and served in a soup. A soup! Disappointed as we were excited.

I did not get a chance to taste your food because you said that you only had reservation, but it does not say that on your website that I needed to make reservation. I am from Austin Texas, and I was very disappointed when I got there because they tried to fit my husband and I at the bar but on different sides. personally, I am do not like sitting at a bar to eat so again I was very disappointed and if it was 0 to 10 out only give you a one
