I sat here at the bar for 15 minutes before anyone talked to me. While sitting here, I listened to several bartenders catching up with regulars and each other. Finally, someone (outside of the bar area) came over. "Have you been helped?", she asked. I politley said, " no ". Her response, " Dang, all these bartenders walking around here and no one has talked to you?". She took my order, said a couple if more things try to make me laugh. Thirsty Lion Gastropub was recommended to me by a friend for my birthday dinner. I called to make a reservation for a table of 9, and the hostess who answered the phone started the conversation by saying "Oh my God!" when asking for the wait time. I am a manager of a restaurant myself and understand the importance of hostess etiquette, and I was extremely unimpressed.

It was easy to get a reservation on a Wednesday night, and wasn't very busy. It was still loud and they decided to turn the music up even louder which made zero sense, I didn't appreciate having the song "Honey, I'm good" consuming my hearing. It was really frustrating. We got two appetizers which were decent. All of our glasses were dirty with bits of crud in them which was gross, fries were soggy, fried chicken Mac and cheese had zero flavor and hurt our stomachs, salad was just ok. If I could select zero stars I would. We left before we even ordered. Table for 4 with reservations. Our waiter came and brought water and 3 glasses, said he would bring the 4th right back. We saw he wondering around not really helping anyone. We finally after 20 minutes got his attention and ordered drinks. Normally a waiter would ask if you wanted anything to drink while you waited for the rest of your party. Not him. Waited awhile watching him continue to chat with other staff and wander around. The service is friendly and food is good; however there was something that I was not pleased with at all when paying the bill, the "Service Charge". You claim in the receipt that is optional and can be removed if the customer requests it. If is "optional" then why would you add it to the receipt instead of asking the customer first? What you do is unfair and unethical, many customers like my friend who was with me, do not notice the charge when paying their bill. Every time I try to call and make a reservation I get hung up on. Now this is just not once or twice, it's happened on many occasions. When we just show up there is usually something available, but the hostess and/or whoever answers the phone suck at being in customer service! The chefs are great.

This restaurant had such a strong start. We were seated immediately, our server took our order quickly, food arrived in a timely manner, and we loved the outside patio. However, once we received our drinks and food, we felt forgotten about. No one ever checked on us again, and we were trying to get our server's attention for nearly 20 minutes as she stood chatting with another table. My meal came after the rest of my party was finished. The side dish was wrong as well. The fish tacos were mediocre at best. The best thing I can say about this place is there was no wait and they comped the tacos and our apps for the meal delay. Do not recommend.

I thought the food and service was good. our waiter was attentive and checked in with us to see if we had everything. My only complaint is with the Thirsty Lion loyalty club rewards program. I had printed out my coupon stating I had $10.00 off my next visit. It was dated May 21. Nowhere was it written on it that it would expired on any date. If it was a year old or the program no longer existed I could understand it being expired. But barely over 2 months?? With no printed expiration date? I spent $160.00 and tippe... read more
