The worst restaurant ever. Servers and Managers are a bunch of rude kids that definitely don't do their job. They act like they're entitled. It's loud and the food takes forever.

Thirsty lion is one of my favorite places. I was so happy when they opened one in Arizona. We drive from Bend Oregon to go Portland lots. The food was amazing as always. The bartender was fabulous. The only thing I didn't like about it is the service charge. It is not going to the employees. Where is it going? I didn't appreciate paying an extra few dollars. We went here for dinner on a Friday night, we got there at 5:45 and were told 25-30 minutes, 45 minutes later we were seated at a "clean" table that had crumbs on it. We waited for a bit for our server greet us and bring us room temperature water with these 8-12 oz glasses. We ordered our food and appetizer at the same time as to not have to wait longer to order dinner. The server said she'd be sure it came out prior to our meal, we waiting about 20 minutes and our food came out before our appetizer did.

If you need some food go here. If you can wait until you can drive somewhere else or get home and heat up a pizza then wait. Super nice staff but the food is basically Applebees with nicer tables and chairs.
I returned (about a year later) with my family, remembering our great experience last time. The scotch eggs were still good, but everything else tanked. The Gastropub burger was chewy, my wife's burger wasn't cooked to the right temp, my daughter's chicken sandwich was room-temp and dry. Fries were soggy. Side salad (with blue cheese vinaigrette) was decent. Service was extremely inattentive. Removed this place from our favorites list.

TL;DR: This ain't it. Only positive is the lovely staff. I will say right off the bat - everyone who works here is incredibly nice. They are attentive, friendly, informative, and fun. They do the absolute best they can, and are the stars of the restaurant for sure. Everything else - nah. We went here on a Sunday night and had a relatively quick wait (just 20 min). Hello just about 30 min ago today we tried to walk in to the location in Tigard or. Upon arrival we were asked if we had a reservation. We did not. They told us they would not serve us because of the ice storm in Portland. Like what the heck I thought. Wouldn't you want the business during these storms that scare away customers. I'm sure others have even cancelled reservations due to this "dangerous" storm. As there were plenty of open tables in the restaurant. I know why the Lion is thirsty. We stopped on our way back from Thanksgiving to watch Mexico vs Argentina. While we were happy that the game was on and the wait staff were nice, that's about the only nice thing about it. Calling this a 'gastropub' is preposterous. Avocado toast for brunch seemed a safe bet. Avacado on toasted bread. How can you screw that up? November 26 2022. We just had dinner, and it was a huge disappointment. We ordered the pork ramen, and the taste was awful: too smoky and also too spicy like they'd thrown five jalapeños in the bowl. We informed our server as she rushed us with the check; she said she told the kitchen. On our way out, I also shared the same feedback that i had shared without our server with one of the cooks.
