A few days ago, we wanted to meet David for Lunch, before Gayle and I took off for PDX. David asked what Gayle liked (besides wine) and I through out salads and fish tacos as examples. My Son's sister recommended Thirsty Lion for the later, so off we went. Was it only a few month ago that hardly anyone dined indoors in the Portland Area and even then under capacity restrictions? Not now, as this area has seemed to join the rest of the country in allowing busy indoor seating and requiring masks only when getting to your ... read more

Decent place to eat. It started off kinda shaky but to be fair they were busy. Gave us a drink in a cracked glass but remade the drink and treated us very well after that. Appetizers were delicious and came out quick. The pretzel and edamame. The highlight of our dinner was the MAPLETON old fashioned. It's a seasonal drink so if you can make it in before December when they change it, I highly recommend it. The carnitas salad was okay, interesting appearance but I don't think I'll be ordering it again. The fried chicken Mac... read more

Well after a first bad experience, I was immediately contacted by management and invited back. Not once did Theresa mention what the service charge was for, instead she focused on customer satisfaction. I actually read on the menu about the service charge being for the benefit of the employee. I only stopped and had a beer for my first visit to the Thirsty Lion so I did not read the footnote on the menu. I would suggest that corporate just pay more out to your most valuable assets your employees and keep the customer away fr... read more

Business response:

Hello Keith. I apologize for the lack of explanation regarding the service charge. We will gladly take off the service charge if a guest asks. If you could email me your contact information at tcapolupo@ceghospitality.com I would like to make this right. I would like to refund you for your purchase and to ask you to come back and give us another try. I hope to hear from you soon!

Overall a nice variety of food and drinks, a good play list and fun atmosphere. Personally prefer the tannasborne location. Had high hopes from having enjoyed that location and while the brick and mortar match but the service didn't. As you walk in host table us to your right with the bar directly ahead, complete with TVs. To the right is seating that leads out to the fire pit and enclosed patio dining. Happy hour is 2-6 and they were very accommodating for dairy free options. The pretzels Are the size of the plate and ... read more

Cherry sauce on pork tenderloin! Was amazing. This of course after the bacon wrapped shrimp. Best beer selection in the area.

Business response:

Hi Jim, we do really appreciate you providing feedback! We hope you're willing to return soon so we have the opportunity to impress you further!

Had some health appointments in the area, and grabbed some lunch here. Bustling place, so probably something to consider based on your Covid comfort. Ordered the grilled salmon that came with jasmine rice, and a veggie melange of brussel sprouts, butternut squah and a few onion slivers. The sauce, which I had on the side, was a compound butter with lime and jalapeño according to the menu. I also think it had some garlic. The salmon grill marks were perfect, the fish cooked just a touch past medium. It was flavorful and rem... read more

Love the fish n chips! Always ask for the extra crispy:) Our server and manager were awesome accommodating the issue that my fish wasn't quite cooked enough. I was offered another drink while my family finished their meal and then I finished mine. My only criticism would be ...maybe some type of compensation for the interruption of our meal but all and all I will be back.

Business response:

Thank you so much for your kind words, Linda. We are glad you enjoyed your visit to Thirsty Lion and we are so happy the manager took care of you! Come back and see us soon.

Visited this evening, first time in over a year. I was very excited to go as I've never had a bad meal. It was happy hour and started getting busy. We were a table of 9 celebrating a birthday with four kiddos 6 and under. Meals took an extended time but it was completely understandable. Service was good, no complaints. My fries and sandwich arrived and the fries were burnt and not one over an 1.1/2". It was the worst plate coverage I've been served. Mgr offered more fries, no thank you. They didn't take my complaint serious... read more

The girl taking people in on 11/1 at noon needs to do better at her job. The lady ahead of us got skipped over and made a comment to her. When it was our turn she said it would be 20 minutes of wait. After 40 minutes of waiting and groups of people just coming in and getting seated before us, we realized some were reservations while others were not. We went up asking and she replied that she called us earlier. Which she lied about. We had been standing next to her the entire time. And all 4 of us were witness to not hearing ... read more
