I pulled over in the parking lot to check my emails and I wandered into Mercado Juarez Cafe for dinner. What luck! I gave up meat for lent, so it was fish or enchiladas, I went with the Ceviche of the appertivos menu. The first thing to show up was the chips and salsa, both are home made and the salsa is full bodied and served warm along with warm chips, which I prefer to the chilled watery type. Next the chilled Large mug of Budlight with icey brew. Not too shabby When the ceviche is served, it's on a plate in 3homemade ... read more
I've been here a few times over the years and have always had good dining experiences. The warm salsa with fresh chips are something I always look forward to. The margaritas are good and strong, well for me anyway. I came in yesterday for National Margarita Day. Frozen strawberry margarita for $3.75. I'm almost embarrassed to say it but one was enough for me. It doesn't take much to get me tipsy. As for the food, it's served hot and fresh. While I really enjoy the charro beans, I find the rice just ok. The peas and carrots... read more
My father use to bring me here when I was child. Great memories, great food, and the Best Salsa in town! The Wednesday lunch special is the Bomb! Steak Tampiqueno Steak, marinated & mesquite charboiled with poblano sauce & jack cheese. Served with a cheese & onion enchilada topped with chili beef sauce, Spanish rice & refried beans. My waitress Victoria was awesome!
Awesome food! The best chips and Salsa I have ever had. The enchiladas are grand, The Tacos Al Carbon chicken are the bomb fresh off the grill! Beans are wonderful and I do not eat beans.. The drinks are amazing.
The enchiladas are THE BEST!! Ask for Leo (the best waiter) attentive and courteous. The cheese enchiladas keep me coming back again and again. The cashier needs some social skills but oh well.
Marco was an amazing waiter. Food was ok. Tens dip was good.
Nothing completely outstanding but nothing negative either. Salsa to me was a good flavor, but it's warm in temperature so that's a little different, but not bad. Salsa to my partner was "spiced tomato soup & would be good with grilled cheese." We ordered the fajitas for 2 and got steak and chicken. It was a great portion with even enough for leftovers. The restaurant was busy so servers were very fast, but we went on a Saturday night so it was understandable.
Old-school standard; sort of the Fort Worth version of El Chico. Good house margaritas, good chips, and good TexMex in an adobe structure that would fit in any Southwestern USA town. We were seated quickly for a weekday lunch. The queso blanco was thin but tasty, and our drinks were served quickly. Several (on-tap) beers were out of stock, but a decent selection remained. My Chicken Quesadillas were filling and much better than average! Side order of beans was excellent; just to my taste! Pay near the entrance after... read more
