My family and I visited this establishment today for dinner. We thought that based on the vibe and decor that the food would be great. Unfortunately it was not. There were six of us. We had three chicken fried steaks, two wedge salads and one shrimp and grits. Before we ordered, the table next to us said that they ordered the steak frites and that it was the worst steak they've ever had. Even though we stayed away from the steak frites, what we ordered wasn't great. The gumbo and oysters were good. But other than those two d... read more
Couldn't finish an over-priced and over-seasoned tartar with stale bread. Very disappointing experience.
Upon initial arrival, atmosphere was decent, but after being seated, it was very cold in the restaurant. So dress warmly if you go when it's cold. Food was subpar at best. Porkskins were the best food we had. I had the skirt steak with fries. Steak was medium(as ordered) in the absolute middle and medium well - to - well on the ends. The outside was CHARRED which gave the whole steak an off taste. The fries were the best part. Hand cut, cooked perfectly. Wife had the Shrimp with farro salad. Farro was decent, nothi... read more
Made a reservation for 12 people. Sat in secluded area and service was awful. Food came out at different times, 2 different servers waiting on table and both forgot about the party on different occasions. Manager (female) came by to check on table and had an attitude. Overall experience was sub par. Will not be returning.
So went here last night. I feel bad for giving it one star because the service was great. The food was almost uneatable. The shrimp were overcooked, grits were gross. Venison tartare was decent but not great. The steak was overcooked. Oysters had so much sand and grit in them I thought I was going to chip a tooth.
My wife and I went to dinner and decided to stop here for an after dinner drink. We ordered a nice gin on the rocks called Monkey 47 Gin. It was $70 for two, which is steep, but that is not the issue. The issue is that Monkey 47 is a very smooth subtle gin. The gin that was given to us tasted like we were chewing juniper branches. It was obvious that they had charged us for the top shelf and poured something extremely cheap. It was easy to know this was the case as we had just left dinner and had the same drink with dinner. ... read more
Tried this place out . I love supporting local/ neighborhood restaurants. I was very disappointed. Beautiful restaurant, nice and friendly staff. Started with the fried tomatoes. It was plated like a sushi roll , drowned in remoulade and topped with ham. The fried green tomatoes were breaded with too much panko all you tasted was bread . Next was the Rainbow trout. It was horrible . Did not taste fresh , overcooked and just not pleasant. I ended up not eating my plate . My friend had the cheeseburger, which a burger from... read more
