Bit disappointed. Went there last Friday around 5:30 as a family. We were out in the back room where all the kids were. Room was filthy. Food all over the floor because that were put all the small children. Our waitress was outstanding. Food was okay. Sitting in the back killed the atmosphere. We passed by several empty tables in the main sitting area. Won't be going back.

Ambience was very nice, have to say the service was impeccable. Our waiter was awesome. Have no complaints about the staff! However, when it comes to the food, I ordered their pork spareribs with plum sauce, the plum sauce was incredible the beans and rice that came with it were awesome. However, when it came to the pork ribs, I was very disappointed if I'm paying $27 for four pork spare ribs I expect those ribs to be plump juicy and fall off the bone not tasting like beef jerky. Does it look cool? Yep. Is it packed to capacity on the weekends? Yep. But Cactus Canyon seems to be wildly popular simply because...it's wildly popular. Visited for the first time with a friend for dinner on a Saturday evening and was shocked by the crowds. We didn't mind the 30 minute wait for a table at 5:45PM, and the three hostesses were cheerful and adorable. But man, the restaurant is all-caps LOUD. Food was average but very expensive. Biggest complaint is it is so loud in there you cannot talk to your family. We were on our phones the whole time because we could not hear each other. Way too loud!!

Great food aside from overall ambiance! Steak fajitas and poblano queso are fantastic but over priced for Argyle. My biggest complaint is the complete darkness inside and club-like atmosphere. Even the patio is completely enclosed (no view of outside?) and pitch dark. Disappointed that it is not more inviting and family friendly considering the area- it belongs in downtown Dallas.

Chicken bone in chimichanga - discovered in my mouth after taking a bite. Not good. Prices are super inflated for food that was almost as good as other local Texmex places. Service was fine - the servers are maybe too attentive if anything. What's with the lights pulsing to the music - that was irritating. Great greeting at front door with the hostess. She asked if we were celebrating anything and we said yes, my wife's birthday. They seated us with a decorative lighted bottle to let our server know we were celebrating a birthday. (More on that later) Very dark inside. Takes a minute for your eyes to adjust. My 88 yr old mother in law almost tripped because she couldn't see where she was going. Service started out fantastic and diminished quickly toward the end. Who ever priced this menu should be ashamed. It's good food but grossly overpriced. You can find a much much better quality Tex Mex for prices that make sense in HV and Flo Mo. there's a serious problem with restaurants now where they just see how much they can charge bc unfortunately people are still paying for it. But Who ever made this menu is part of the problem. They are a new restaurant, sad that this is the new standard. I would highly encourage people spend their dollar elsewhere.

Great food, but you pay for it. $8 for a Non-alcoholic beer is nuts. If you're going during the day, adjust your eyes when entering - it's dark.
